Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lodie's Bicycle Kick Leads Men's Soccer Past Nazareth, 1-0

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team remained undefeated in Empire 8 play with a 1-0 win over the Nazareth Golden Flyers on Wednesday afternoon. Aidan Lodie came up clutch for the Knights, scoring a bicycle kick goal with less than seven minutes left in the game to improve Geneseo's record to 9-4-1 and 7-0-0 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Geneseo started the first half with excellent pressure, putting six shots up against the Golden Flyers. Defensively, Max Crothall made a huge save at the 24-minute mark to keep it scoreless.
  • The Knights continued to play hard in the opening minutes of the second half, putting five shots on net. Dylan Thody had two great opportunities but was unable to get one past Nazareth.
  • In the 83rd minute, Owen Burke sent a corner kick to the middle of the box, where Thody got a piece of the ball on a contested header, popping the ball up in the air allowing Lodie to set up a perfect bicycle kick to the top right corner of the goal. Geneseo's defense held strong through the final minutes of play to extend their win streak to five and remain perfect in Empire 8 play.
