GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team fell to Brockport on Tuesday evening, 73-72. The defeat snaps a nine-game win streak for the Knights as they dip to 13-5 overall and 8-1 in Empire 8 play, while Brockport improves to 16-2 and 9-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Geneseo came out firing from deep, draining three-straight three's to open up the game with a 9-0 advantage. Grace Galgano, Kiley Snow, and Maggie McGrane drained the shots for the Knights, as they held onto that early lead for the remainder of the quarter and led 18-12 going to the second quarter.
- The Knights went on to extend the lead to 32-16 off a fast-break layup by Eva Elliot, and held on to a 37-23 advantage going to halftime.
- Galgano and Kristin Suydam knocked down the first 11 points of the third quarter for Geneseo, as the Knights were up by 18 halfway through the quarter. Later in the quarter a jump shot from Mackenzie Reigle put Geneseo ahead by 25, but the Golden Eagles were able to cut the deficit to 21 before the fourth quarter.
- Brockport caught fire in the fourth quarter, shooting 74 percent from the field, including 6-11 from behind the arc as they scored 35 points to complete the comeback and escape with the 73-72 victory.

- Suydam recorded a double-double for the Knights, dropping 19 points and 11 rebounds.Â
- Galgano and Snow chipped in 14 and 12 points, respectively, while Reigle continued her impressive senior campaign with her fourth-straight game over 10 assists, tallying 12.
