Men's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Brockport

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't pull out a win on Tuesday evening, falling to Brockport 67-55. The Knights fall to 5-13 overall and 2-7 in the Empire 8, while the Golden Eagles improve to 10-8 and 8-1 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights opened the game on offense with a pair of three's from Jackson Casey and Colin Gentile, as they quickly held a 6-2 lead. Later in the half, Geneseo went on a 7-0 run, propelled by five points from Robert Pericolosi, to go ahead 19-11.
  • Geneseo went on to extend their lead to double digits in the first half, going ahead by as many as 13 points. However, the Golden Eagles were able to convert a three-point play on the final possession to cut the deficit to 10 going to the second half.
  • Brockport came out firing in the second half, quickly erasing Geneseo's lead to take a lead with 13 minutes left to play. The Golden Eagles went on to lead by 11 at 57-46, but the Knights worked their way back to just a six-point deficit with 4:30 on the clock. Unfortunately, they couldn't complete the comeback and Brockport pulled away for the 67-55 win.
