GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team defeated Alfred University on Friday evening by a score of 75-50, marking the Knights' eighth-straight victory. Geneseo now improves to 12-4 on the season and 7-0 in Empire 8 play, while Alfred falls to 10-6 and 4-3 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo came out firing on all cylinders, going ahead 14-2 in the first five minutes of the game. Kristin Suydam and Kiley Snow combined for 10 of Geneseo's 14 points during the run.
• Later in the first quarter, a three from Brianna Beebe and a layup from Audrey Hintz extended the lead to 19-4. Early in the second quarter, a bucket from Grace Galgano pushed the lead up to 19.
• A late run by the Saxons cut the lead to 13 just before halftime, but a late basket by Maggie McGrane, then steal and layup in the final second from Mackenzie Reigle brought the lead back to 17 before the break.
• The Knights continued to keep Alfred's comeback hopes at bay in the second half, never letting the dead return to single digits, and ultimately extending it above 20 points in the final quarter. Geneseo went on to win 75-60 to remain unbeaten in Empire 8 action.

QUICK FACTS:

• Mackenzie Reigle tallied a double-double, tallying 11 assists and 10 points. She also recorded seven rebounds and five steals.
• Kristin Suydam matched her season-high with 20 points, while Kiley Snow chipped in 14.
