Men's Soccer Draws with Skidmore

 

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team drew 1-1 with Skidmore on Saturday afternoon. The Knights' defense put in a solid performance to remain unbeaten with a record of 1-0-1 overall.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Skidmore started the game ready to play. The Thoroughbreds found the back of the net in the third minute of the game to take an early 1-0 lead.  

  • Geneseo senior defender Eric Famularo equalized in the 32nd minute on an unassisted shot that found the top of the net.  

  • Junior forward Dylan Thody narrowly took the lead in the 63rd minute on a shot attempt that the Skidmore goalkeeper stopped.  

  • Senior forward Kyle Arraiano created the last chance of the game in the 84th minute, turned away by the Thoroughbreds.  

QUICK FACTS:  

  • Senior goalkeeper Vincent Maronski started in net for the Knights and recorded three saves on four shots on goal.  

  • Eric Famularo scored his first career goal for Geneseo.  

  • Geneseo remains unbeaten against Skidmore with a record of 1-0-3 in four meetings all-time.  

WHAT'S NEXT:  

The Knights will travel to Pennsylvania to take on Allegheny College on Tuesday, September 10th, at 4:30 p.m.
