GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's cross country team had an impressive showing at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday, placing second out of 25 teams, only behind Division I foe Cornell. The Knights depth proved vital, with their entire top-seven placing inside the top-25 overall.
Alex Hillyard was the first Knight to cross the finish line, taking 11th overall with a time of 24:52.05. Behind Hillyard was a big pack of Geneseo runners, but
William Hall and
Anson Butler were the next two to cross as they finished 14th (25:08.) and 15th (25:11.1), respectively.
Pierce Young and
Austin Schoen rounded out the top-five with times of 25:18.0 and 25:25.7 in 18th and 20th place, respectively.
Nick Baumann and
Kyle Gronau were sixth and seventh for the Knights in 22nd and 23rd place overall. Geneseo saw 14 runners place inside the top 50 in a race that had 334 competitors.Â

Geneseo will split up next weekend, competing at both the Kara Hall Memorial Invitational hosted by Fredonia and the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
