ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's golf team traveled to Nazareth on Wednesday afternoon for their first match of the season, and came away with a 2-1 win in a 2-on-2 best ball match.

The team of Shannon McCrory and Samantha Petroci picked up one of the wins for the Knights after leading by four with just three holes left to play. Brooklyn Rogers and Isabelle Healey teamed up to secure the second point for the Knights, with the same score of four and three. Jillian Draper and Sara Ippolito were the third team for Geneseo and took on the Golden Flyers in a tightly contested match that came down to the 18th hole. Unfortunately, the Knights were unable to pull off the sweep with a victory on the last hole.

Following their season opening win, Geneseo will turn its attention towards the Empire 8 Fall Invitational on Friday, Sep. 12 at Locust Hill Country Club.
