CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team finished second overall at the AARTFC Meet at Cortland on Thursday, posting a total of 66 points.
DAY ONE RECAP - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team finished day one of the Atlantic Regional Championship meet at Cortland in first place with a total of 38 points.
Alex Hillyard helped get Geneseo going by taking first place in the 3000m steeplechase, posting a time of 8:59.31. Teammate
Pierce Young came in third, making it a total of 16 points for the Knights in the race. Also picking up a first place finish on the day was
Bryan Jacobs, who put up a distance of 7.28m in the long jump. The team of
Daniel Blae-Prince,
Matthew Sheehan,
Sam Belmont, and
Lance Jensen finished third in the 4x400 relay, while
Kyle Gronau and
Charlie Wilson combined for six more points in the 5000m by finishing fifth and seventh, respectively.

DAY TWO RECAP - The Knights tacked on 28 points to their team total on day two of the AARTFC Championships. Highlighting day two of competition was Lance Jansen and
Matthew Sheehan, who both picked up first place finishes. Jensen took the top spot in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 52.00 seconds, while Sheehan won the 800m at 1:51.36.
Bryan Friedel also picked up some points for Geneseo in the 800m, finishing fifth overall. Friedel then helped cap off the meet, competing in the 4x800 relay with
Nick Bauman,
Pierce Young, and
Tim Sheahan. The relay team finished fifth overall for four more points.
