GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team hosted a quad meet on Saturday, April 20, and celebrated Senior Day for the team's final home regular season meet. The Knights finished the day in first place overall, scoring 200 points, with Rochester in second at 130.
The men's 10,000m kicked off the track events, and
Austin Schoen,
Alex Hillyard, and
Justin Thang finished 1,2,3 all with regional qualifying times. The 4x100 relay team consisting of
Marcus Lewis,
Andrew Kent,
Lance Jensen, and
Daniel Blae-Prince finished first at 42.13 for a regional qualifying time. In the 110m hurdles,
Brendan Style and
Sam Belmont finished first and second, respectively, and then followed it up with same placements in the 400m hurdles.
Matthew Sheehan was the top finisher for the Knights in the 400m with a time of 49.74 in second place.
Dawson Wadsworth kept the momentum going for the Knights as he took first in the 800m with a time of 1:59.04.
Drew Cox and Kole Owens were the top two runners for Geneseo in the 5,000m, while
Lance Jensen and
Andrew Kent posted times of 21.46 and 21.67, respectively, for first and second in the 200m.
Dylan Friel was the top finisher in the 3000m steeplechase, and then the team of
Andrew Kent,
Lance Jensen,
Daniel Blae-Prince,
Sam Belmont closed out the track events with a time of 3:19.26 in the 4x400 relay.
Sean Stewart and Gian Carlo Di Fava finished second and third, respectively, in the high jump, while
Drew Alloco took fourth in the pole vault.
Brett Patmore and Stewart put up distances of 47.41m and 45.85m for second and third place in the javelin.
Adam Specht and
Dylan Olson capped off the field events in third and fourth place.
