GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team began outdoor season this weekend as they hosted their Early Season Invite.
Alex Hillyard kicked things off for Geneseo with a second place finish in the steeplechase, posting a time of 9:26.63.
Cory Jarvis kept things going for the Knights in the 110m hurdles with a fifth place finish and a time of 16.55. In the 400m,
Sam Belmont led the way by placing third with a time of 49.52.
Matthew Sheehan picked up a first place finish for Geneseo in the 800m, recording a time of 1:54.93 while
Tim Sheahan was right behind him in fourth at 1:58.33. In the 5000m, the Knights had three runners place in the top-seven with
Anson Butler leading the way in third.
Charlie Wilson took fifth and
Austin Schoen seventh to highlight the top Geneseo runners. The team of Sheehan,
Bryan Friedel,
Dawson Wadsworth, and
Jack Hislop capped off the track events in the 4x400 relay in third overall at 3:28.22.
Sean Stewart had a strong performance for the Knights in the field events, finishing second and third in the long jump and high jump, respectively.
Dylan Olson added a second place finish of his own in the triple jump, while
Brett Patmore took second in the javelin with a distance of 51.38.
Trey Feirman finished tied for sixth in the pole vault.
