GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball hosted the Oswego Lakers and earned the conference win, 74-43. The Knights clinched a spot in the SUNYAC playoffs with the victory as they now sit at 16-7 overall and 11-5 in SUNYAC play this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Back-to-back three pointers by senior guard Kiley Snow put the Knights up 10-7 midway through the first quarter. Jumpers from senior forward Kerry Dennin and sophomore guard Maggie McGrane kept Geneseo within two as they went to the second down 16-14.
  • Freshman forward Kristin Suydam hit a three on the Knights' opening possession of the frame put the Knights up by one. Threes from graduate guard Hannah Stockman and senior guard Kelly McLaughlin extended their lead to five. Geneseo's defense didn't allow a point in the final four minutes of the half and they went to the break with a 33-27 lead.
  • Geneseo's defense didn't let up out of the break as they held the Lakers scoreless for another four minute stretch in the middle of the third quarter. Late three-pointers by McGrane, Stockman, and McLaughlin gave the Knights a 12-point cushion heading into the final frame.
  • The Knights' offense was relentless in the fourth quarter as they went on a 15-point stretch to end the game. Late free throws from graduate forward Maison Hoyt and a last-minute three-pointer from junior forward Brianna Beebe put the finishing touches on Geneseo's 74-43 rout over the Lakers.
