Men's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't pull out a tough road victory at Oneonta on Friday evening, falling 76-58. The Knights move to 11-10 overall and 8-6 in SUNYAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Cole Kattan kicked off the scoring, knocking down a three-point shot in the first minute of play. Later in the half, Kattan came through again for Geneseo as he helped cut the Red Dragons lead down to three with another deep shot.
  • The Knights trailed by as many as 16 points in the half, but a late run helped them gain momentum and head to the locker rooms down 11.
  • Geneseo used the momentum from the end of the first half to come out firing in the second half. The Knights opened up play with a 14-2 run to take the lead at 44-43 after a pair of free throws from Robert Pericolosi.
  • Unfortunately, their offense slowed down as the half went on and they were unable to take the lead again and Oneonta was able to pull away for the 76-58 win.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Kattan led Geneseo in scoring with 21 points, while Pericolosi also reached double digits at 10.
  • Pericolosi led the team in rebounding with nine.
