Conner's Two Records Highlight RIT and Boston Invitational for Women's Track and Field

BOSTON AND ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's track and field team split up on Friday evening, traveling to both the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the RIT Friday Meet. Zoe Conner highlighted the two meets for the Knights, setting a pair of school records at the RIT Friday Meet.

Geneseo had many impressive showings at the RIT meet, but Zoe Conner led the way by setting two school records. Conner broke her own school record in the shotput at 12.68m, then went on to set the program mark in the weight throw at 17.31m. Also in the field events, Ally Alvira took first in the long jump and triple jump. In the long jump she moved into seventh in program history with a distance of 5.54m. In the triple jump, Alvira went 11.89m, while Katelyn Jacques took second at 11.45m.

On Saturday at Boston, the team of Sierra Doody, Jillian Ambler, Janelle Eckl, and Katie Grossman teamed up in the 4000m distance medley relay for a time of 11:59.43. On Friday, Brynn Mooney provided a big highlight for the Knights by finishing the 400m in 57.98, good enough for sixth fastest in program history. Jillian Ambler kept the strong performances going, finishing the 200m in 25.95 which marks the seventh fastest time in program history. Katie Grossman went on to set a personal best in the mile at 5:07.17. In the 1600 relay, the team of Janelle Eckl, Mooney, Ambler, and Ava Bagley posted a time of 3:57.18. In the 800m, Sierra Doody posted the fastest time for the Knights at 2:15.49. Penelope Greene led the way in the 5000m at 16:55.15, while Rachel Hirschkind posted a time of 17:11.66. In the track events at RIT, Ann Brennan went first overall at 18:27.64, while Marie Naudus and Katherine Peterson finished second and third, respectively. Isabel Marcez kept the winning ways going in the mile at 5:33.43. Nicole Gretzinger took second in the 800m and Mckenna Johnson third in the 200m to round out the top performers.
