ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's track and field team opened up its 2025-26 season at Nazareth on Friday evening.
Nicole Gretzinger opened the meet for Geneseo with an AARTFC qualifying time of 59.14 in the 400m, then
Chloe Kirgan took second in the mile at 5:34.13.
Jillian Ambler picked up the first win of the meet for Geneseo with a time of 8.70 in the 60m hurdles. In the 800m,
Ava Bagley led a pack of Knights by placing first overall at 2:22.50, while
Hannah Wierer was in second at 2:24.50.
Brynn Mooney added another top finish for the Knights in 300m, crossing in 41.11.
Ari Reback and
Annika Hurley each added AARTFC qualifying times in the 3000m at 10:22.10 and 10:37.36, respectively. The 4x400 relay team of Gretzinger, Stella Riley, Bagley, and
Isabella Lagios rounded out the meet in second at 4:02.71.
In the field events, Ambler won the long jump at 5.89, while Chloe Abbott finished fourth at 5.43.
Payton Mehalick was second overall in the shot put at 12.58 and
Lauren Jaklitsch won the weight throw at 16.19.
Marisa Mazzacco rounded out the competition in second in the triple jump at 10.94.
