GENESEO, NY: The Men's Swim & Dive team won 240 to 53 over Brockport this afternoon and the team now has four wins under their belt.
The Knights started the day with a sweep in the 200 IM Relay. Alex Palmer, Jake Nielsen, Jordan Nielsen and Jack Keene took the top spot with a time of 1:35.90, They were followed by Delwin Santana, Jose Santana, Chris Varrichio and Edmund Wilson on B and then Dylan Gallub, Arman Tresnjo, Ciaran Keane and Ryan Clark on C. In the 400- Yard IM, Connor Briard, Will Fagan and Colin Babbitt took first through third respectively. Gannon More took first in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 1:49.83.
Gallub and the Sanatna Brothers finished at the top in the 100-yard breaststroke, with an impressive 54.85 finish by Gallub. Alex Stoker finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing at 1:01.89. Jordan Nielsen took first in the 200-yard butterfly and teammates Griffin Merkling, Moore and Varrichio followed suit sweeping the 50-yard freestyle. Varrichio, Aidan Cameron and Moore took on through three in the 100-yard freestyle, with only .03 separating the three.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Wilson finished in first with a time of 2:03.20. Nielsen, Stoker and Fagan finished top three in the 200-yard breaststroke, with Nielsen touching at 2:12.22, with a five second lead over Stoker. In the 500-yard freestyle, Babbitt and Briard took first and second, with finish times of 4:59.56 and 5:09.31 respectively. Pabisch and Keene finished on top in the 100- butterfly and were followed by Palmer, Briard and Merkling taking top spots in the 100-yard IM. Geneseo swept the 200-yard with Nielsen, Stoker, Santana and Cameron finishing in first with a time of 1:27.21. In diving, Trent Makowiec took first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter, scoring 380.25 and 373.25 in those events. Greg Meder took second place, scoring 300.85 in the 3-meter and 333.80 in the 1-meter.
The Knights will head to the DIII shootout hosted by the University of Chicago on November 8th.
