INDIANAPOLIS - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team competed in the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis this week, scoring 48 points for 19th place.Â
Meder earned First-Team All-American honors after finishing sixth in the prelims with a score of 487.30, and then he followed it up in the finals by earning fifth overall at 509.55, beating out sixth place by .25 points.
Alex Palmer competed in the 200-yard IM and placed 30th overall with a time of 1:51.03.
Jake Nielsen took on the 50-yard freestyle for the Knights, and placed 19th overall at 20.18, while teammate
Brian Pabisch took 25th at 20.26. The team of
Dylan Gallub, Palmer, Pabisch, and Nielsen capped off the meet in the 400-yard medley relay and took 20th overall at 3:19.35.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Pabisch, Nielsen, Gallup and
Peter Peyser highlighted day two for the Knights, finishing in 11th place with a time of 1:20.34, and earning Second Team All-American honorsÂ
Meder put up another great performance in the 1-meter dive, taking fourth place and earning First Team All-American honors. Palmer earned a spot in the 100 yard breaststroke with his prelim time of 54.52, and finishing in 11th in finals with a time of 54.29, earning Second Team All-American honors, while
Jake Nielsen went on to finish in 22nd at 55.14. Â
Palmer opened the final day of competition with a 16th place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke after finishing at 2:01.06, earning Second Team All-American honors.
Brian Pabisch competed in the 100 yard freestyle, taking 35
th with a final time of 45.59 seconds. The 400 yard relay team of Nielsen, Pabisch, Peyser and Gallub rounded out the championship, finishing in 22
nd with a time of 3:01.48.
