GENESEO, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo Women's Field Hockey Team soared to a 9-0 victory against Elmira College on Senior Day. The Knights improved to (10-1) on the season and (4-0) in Empire 8 conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• The Geneseo Knights started the game on fire. Fifth-year forward Katrina Clare found the back of the net under a minute into the game. Sophomore forward Ella Greico with the assist.  

• Senior midfielder Hailey Roethel, first-year forward Aubree Wenner, and first-year midfielder Molly Videla each added first-quarter tallies, giving the Knights a 4-0 lead.  

• The Knights added another three goals in the second quarter to extend the lead to 7-0 at the half. Fifth-year forward Katrina Clare, senior midfielder Hanna Pochobradsky, and first-year  forward Meredith Guertin all scored in the quarter.  

• First-years Kyra Giannelli and  Sophia Lobo found the back of the net in the third to make the score 9-0. The Knights maintained this lead for the entire fourth quarter and go onto win over Elmira.  

QUICK FACTS:  

• Meredith Guertin, Molly Videla, Kyra Giannelli and Sophia Lobo scored their first career goals.  

• Nine goals in a single game is the greatest margin of victory since 2022 when the Knights beat Meadaille College 11-0 

• Geneseo has recorded six consecutive victories. This is the longest win streak since 2019 when the team won 16 games in a row.
