ROCHESTER, NY- The No. 19 Geneseo Field Hockey team took down the St. John Fisher Cardinals 1-0 after a thrilling double OT match. The Knights now advance to 11-1 on the season and 5-0 in Empire 8 conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Geneseo started the pressure early, with six penalty corners and four shots on goal in the first but could not find the back of the net. The defense held strong through the first fifteen minutes, only allowing Fisher one shot on goal.

The Knights and Cardinals kept the ball in no man's land, with neither team having a shot on net during the third, but Geneseo turned the tides in the fourth. The team took control and had ten penalty corners during the quarter. Olivia Hernick put three more shots on net but was unable to get the ball past Fisher's goalie and the team's headed into overtime.

Geneseo opened overtime with Hanna Pochobradsky having a great shot in front of the net, however it was padded away by the Cardinals. They kept control of the game, not allowing Fisher to have any shots on goal in the first OT.
