GENESEO, NY- The Geneseo Volleyball team won 3-0 against Houghton University this evening. The team now stands at 8-13 overall and improves to 5-3 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Geneseo was neck-and-neck with Houghton during set one, but with 10 total kills from Madison Gamberg, Maddie Baumann, and Kate Barba, the Knights won the first set 25-22. 

• The Knights took the lead in set two, with Gamberg leading the way with seven kills and Cory Elder tacking on another three.  Geneseo capitalized on Houghton's receiving errors and took the 25-12 win in set two.  

• In the third set, Houghton kept neck-and-neck with Geneseo again, but with Barba and Baumann leading the offense with eight kills combined, Geneseo was able to pull out a 27-25 win against the Highlanders. 

QUICK FACTS:  

• Madison Gamberg averaged a .625 hitting percentage in this match-up, with 11 kills on 16 attempts.  

• The Knights tallied 41 total kills against the Highlanders 

• Since 2013, the Knights have a 5-3 record against Houghton.
