GENESEO, N.Y.- The #20 Geneseo Field Hockey team took down #19 Ithaca College 3-0 this evening. The Knights now sit at 9-1 and 3-0 in conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• The Knights struck early, with Shannon Cunningham finding Ada Roe only five minutes into the first to give the team a 1-0 lead.  

• Cunningham found the back of the net midway through the second off a pass from Katrina Clare. This sent the knights into halftime up 2-0 over the Bombers. 

• Entering the third period, Geneseo started strong with three penalty corners right out the gate. This created a great opportunity for Clare, and she tallied the Knight's third goal of the game, with the assist from Roe.  

• The Knights held tough for the rest of the match, with Ithaca pushing hard on offense but the Bombers were unable to score on Geneseo. The team now improves to 9-1 over and 3-0 in conference play.  

QUICK FACTS: 

• Geneseo's offense was strong today, putting up eight shots on goal compared to Ithaca's five.  

• Katrina Clare now leads the team in goals with 10 so far this season.  

• Goalkeeper Lilly Spitz is on a five-game win streak in net, only allowing one goal in those games.

Field Hockey will celebrate senior day on Saturday, October 4th as they host Elmira College.
