GENESEO, NY- The Geneseo Volleyball team celebrated their seniors today and won 3-0 against Utica. The team now stands at 7-12 overall and 4-3 overall in the Empire 8 conference.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Geneseo held a close lead in set one, but with Peyton Cole and Madison Gamberg controlling the offense, they collected five kills between them and led the Knights to a 25-22 win. 

• The Pioneers were unable to keep it close in set two. A total of 14 kills from Gamberg, Cole, Kate Barba, and Corey Elder, along with Geneseo capitalizing on Utica's attack errors gave the Knights a 25-14 win in set two.   

• In the third set, Geneseo kept a neck-and-neck lead against Utica, but with Barba leading the offense with five kills, Geneseo pulled ahead and finished the set with a 25-21 win. 

QUICK FACTS:  

• Jenna Garvey tallied five kills against the Pioneers, her highest of the 2024 season. 

• Makenna Callari collected three service aces marking her season high. 

• Since their first match-up in 2015, the Knights have a 3-0 record against the Pioneers.
