GENESEO, NY- The Geneseo Volleyball team lost 3-2 against SUNY Brockport this evening. The team now stands at 5-12 overall and 2-3 overall in the Empire 8 conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Geneseo took control of set one, with Madison Gamberg and Kate Barba going on a run, notching seven kills between the two of them. The Knights took set one 25-17.  

• The Knights and Golden Eagles kept close in set two. Geneseo capitalized on Brockport's errors and came out on top 25-21 in set two.  

• Geneseo held the lead in set three, with Cory Elder and Gamberg controling the offense early on with three and five kills respectfully. Brockport took advantage of errors made by Geneseo and took set three 25-22. 

• In the fourth, both teams traded points all match. Elder, Barba and Gamberg continued to dominate at the net, tallying 11 of the teams 14 kills for this set, but it was not enough. Brockport forced set five with a 25-23 win.  

• Geneseo controlled the fifth set through the first half, going up 9-4. The Knights fought hard but were unable to finish and Brockport came out on top 15-13. Geneseo lost 3-2. 

QUICK FACTS: 

• Madison Gamberg, Kate Barba, and Cory Elder totaled 42 kills, tallying 73% of the team's total kills.  

• Jenna Garvey had 29 assists tonight, a season high and now leads with 235 on the season.  

• Zooey Gagnier had a season high 24 digs and first career kill.
