Ella Greico Leads Field Hockey to 1-0 Victory Over Susquehanna

GENESEO, N.Y.- The No. 19 Geneseo Women's Field Hockey team emerged victorious against the Susquehanna River Hawks (8-5) on Monday afternoon. Greico's lone goal was enough for the Knights to improve to (13-1) on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Geneseo outshot the River Hawks in the first quarter, but neither team was able to find a goal.

  • The game went back and forth in the second, senior forward Ada Roe tallied two shots on target, both denied by the Susquehanna goalie.

  • Throughout the third, both teams remained strong on both sides of the ball. Neither team was able to break the deadlock. Geneseo earned two penalty corners during the quarter but couldn't capitalize on the opportunities.

  • In the fourth quarter, Sophomore forward Ella Greico put the ball through the goalie's leg after redirecting junior midfielder Shannon Cunninghams shot attempt to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.

QUICK FACTS:

  • The Knights outshot the River Hawks 9-2 through four quarters.
