Field Hockey Wins 10th Straight Game

GENESEO, N.Y.-The SUNY Geneseo Women's Field Hockey team picked up a conference victory against Sage, 9-0, on Saturday. The Knights improved to (14-1) on the year and remained perfect (7-0) in Empire 8 Conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • First-year forward Ava Harman found sophomore forward Sara O'Donnell for the Knights's first goal under two minutes into the game.  

  • Harman and sophomore forward Ella Greico found the back of the net in the first quarter to give the Knights a 3-0 lead after one.  

  • Senior midfielder Hannah Pochobradsky added the lone tally in the second quarter to extend the Knights lead.  

  • Ava Harman added another during the third quarter, assisted by junior midfielder Sam Lewis.  

  • Greico, Lewis, fifth-year forward Grace Olczak, and fifth-year forward Katrina Clare added goals in the fourth quarter to secure a 9-0 victory for Geneseo.   

QUICK FACTS:  

  • Senior goaltender Lily Spitz started in the net for the Knights and recorded her eighth consecutive shutout.  

  • Geneseo leading goal scorer Katrina Clare now sits at 15 goals on the season. 

  • The Knights did not concede a single shot during the game and recorded 25 shots on target and Geneseo's win streak was extended to 10 after today's victory.  

WHAT'S NEXT:  

The Knights (14-1) will travel to take on Brockport (12-3) on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 4 P.M. in another conference matchup.
