Men's Basketball Comes Up Short At Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team second half comeback came up short on Friday night at Cortland, falling 83-72. The Knights slip to 4-6 on the season and 1-2 in SUNYAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Geneseo got off to a slow start in the contest, but back-to-back baskets from Cole Kattan got the offense started. Unfortunately, the Knights couldn't keep the momentum going and entered the second half facing a 22-point deficit.
  • Geneseo wasn't ready to go away in the second half however, and fought their way back into the game. A layup from Justin Yearwood brought the Red Dragons lead down to just single digits late in the game, but there wasn't enough time left on the clock for the Knights to complete the comeback and they ultimately fell 83-72.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Josh Garelle highlighted the Geneseo offense, dropping 17 points off the bench on 6-11 shooting. Garelle also nabbed 10 rebounds to secure a double-double performance.
  • Sebastian Pacheco and Robert Pericolosi joined Garelle in double-digits, scoring 15 and 13 points, respectively.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Knights will take on Oswego tomorrow at 4 p.m.
