Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Falls At Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team couldn't pull out a road win on Friday evening as they fell at Cortland, 71-59. The Knights move to 6-4 on the season and 1-2 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Kiley Snow got things rolling for the Knights offense early, draining a three-point shot on their second possession of the game. Kerry Dennin then carried the torch the rest of the way, dropping 10 points in the quarter.
  • Geneseo came out strong in the second quarter after trailing by seven following the first 10 minutes, and quickly cut the lead down to one point. However, the Red Dragons found a way to bounce back and took an nine-point lead to halftime.
  • The Knights found their rhythm in the third quarter, and ultimately ended up taking a two-point lead following a basket from Mackenzie Reigle. Once again, Cortland found an answer and took a two-point advantage into the final 10 minutes where they were able to escape with the victory.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Dennin was superb for the Knights on offense, scoring 23 points on 10-16 shooting while adding 11 rebounds for a double-double.
  • Reigle joined her in double-digit scoring, with 14 points of her own. Reigle also tallied seven assists.
