GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team kicked off the new year in style as they traveled to SUNY Morrisville and earned a 92-61 victory. The win improves the Knights record to 6-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo had an impressive performance in the opening quarter, as they were ahead 23-1 following the first 10 minutes. Graduate guard Hannah Stockman led the charge in the quarter, registering 11 points on 3-3 shooting from behind the arc.
• The Knights offense didn't slow down in the second quarter, dropping 28 points en route to a 51-17 advantage at halftime.
• Geneseo went on to cruise to the 92-61 victory, extending their lead to as many as 39 points at multiple junctures of the second half.

QUICK FACTS:

• Stockman led the offensive effort, dropping 18 points on a perfect 7-7 shooting from the field. Also reaching double-digit points was Mackenzie Reigle and Brianna Beebe with 10 each.
• Eva Elliot, Kerry Dennin, and Audrey Hintz all led the rebounding effort with five each.

The Knights will return to SUNYAC action and travel to Cortland and Oswego this Friday and Saturday, respectively.
