GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team earned a 72-60 victory over Buffalo St. on Tuesday evening in Schrader Gym. The win improves the Knights to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in SUNYAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo got off to a hot start by taking a 7-0 lead, which was jump started by a deep three from Cole Kattan just eight seconds into the action. Later in the first half, a jumper from Sebastian Pacheco put the Knights up 19 points at 29-10, capping off another 7-0 run.
• The Bengals were able to go on a run of their own to close out the first half however, and cut the lead down to eight points heading to the halftime break.
• Geneseo came out strong in the second half, quickly extending the lead back to 17 points after a layup from Josh Garelle just under five minutes into the action. The Knights continued to put the pressure on and Drew Morrow put them up by 22 points with eight minutes left to play with a jump shot.
• Buffalo St. went on a late run with time winding down, but was only able to cut the lead down to 12 on a shot near the end of the game.

QUICK FACTS:

• Kattan was dominant on the offensive end, dropping a game-high 19 points on 8-10 shooting, including 3-4 from behind the arc. Kattan also led the team in rebounding with nine.
• Pacheco chipped in 13 points of his own, and added eight rebounds with a team-high five assists.
• Geneseo has now won six of the last seven matchups against Buffalo St.
