Women's Soccer Plays To 1-1 Tie Against New Paltz

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team took on New Paltz at College Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The matchup ended in a 1-1 draw and the Knights' season record now sits at 5-2-3 overall and 1-0-2 in SUNYAC play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights were able to put up two shots in the first half, with one on-goal and saved in the final five minutes.
  • Geneseo also tallied two corner kicks before halftime, while New Paltz was held to zero. 
  • The scoring opened in the 71st minute of action when the Knights took a 1-0 lead on an own-goal by the Hawks.
  • Geneseo held the lead until the 84th minute when a penalty kick goal allowed New Paltz to tie the game. 
  • The Knights were able to put up two shots on-goal in the final 20 minutes of action but were unable to find the back of the net as the game ended in a 1-1 draw. 
  • Junior goalkeeper Mollie Collins played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded four saves against New Paltz.
