NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team lost 2-1 in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game Saturday afternoon at New Paltz. The defeat dropped the Knights to 5-4-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- New Paltz opened the scoring in the second minute of the game on a goal scored by the Hawks' forward.
- The Knights tied the game in the 11th minute with an unassisted goal by Graduate Student Tyler Lewandowski, slotting a penalty kick into the bottom right corner of the net.
- The Hawks were able to regain their lead in the 24th minute and held onto the lead for the rest of the first half.
- The second half saw no goals scored by either team, making the final score of the contest New Paltz 2, Geneseo 1.
