Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Travels To Buffalo St., Falls 2-0

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team traveled to Buffalo and lost 2-0 in a State University of New York Conference (SUNYAC) clash against Buffalo State. The Geneseo Knights drop to 5-5-2 overall, and 1-3 in SUNYAC play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Bengals scored the first goal of the game in the second minute on a high cross headed into the back of the net by the attacker. The score would remain 1-0 going into the half.
  • The Bengals would make the score 2-0 in the 52nd minute on a another crossed in ball that was scored by the Buffalo State forward's head.
  • Geneseo goalkeeper Vincent Maronski Jr. recorded a breakaway save in the 63rd minute, denying the Bengal's forward an opportunity with an acrobatic leg save, keeping the score 2-0.
  • The Knights came close to cutting the lead in half in the 78th minute when Tyler Lewandowski found himself in a scoring opportunity, passing the ball across to Eren Aydin, which was narrowly cleared away by a Buffalo State defender at the last moment.
