Men's Soccer Falls To #12 Oneonta, 2-1

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team couldn't pull through Saturday afternoon at College Stadium, falling 2-1 to #12 SUNY Oneonta.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Red Dragons opened the scoring in the 25th minute on a one-time finish from a ball crossed across the box.
  • The Knights equalized in the 35th minute on a penalty kick drawn by freshman forward Aidan Lodie. Graduate Student Justin Arilotta slotted the ball into the bottom right corner from the penalty spot, making the score 1-1.
  • The game remained even until the 88th minute, when Oneonta scored the game-winning goal off a breakaway.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Geneseo and Oneonta both recorded a total of three shots on goal during the game.
  • Justin Arliotta continues his scoring streak, scoring in all three of the Knights' past games, giving him six total goals on the season.
