Men's Soccer Earns 3-1 Victory Over Fredonia

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team claimed its first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory of the season, beating Fredonia 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Graduate student Tyler Lewandowski recorded two goals and an assist, leading the Knights to a victory over the visiting Blue Devils.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Geneseo forward Tyler Lewandowski scored his first goal of the night after battling through two Fredonia defenders in the 19th minute on an unassisted goal.
  • Fredonia tied the game in the 35th minute on a one-time finish inside the box.
  • The Knights were able to recover the lead after an unbelievable, outside of the foot pass, from Tyler Lewandowski to Justin Arilotta who scored on an acrobatic volley in the 37th minute.
  • Tyler Lewandowski put the game out of reach after scoring his second goal of the afternoon in the 88th minute. The Geneseo forward dribbled past two defenders and hammered a shot with his right foot to make the score 3-1 Knights.

  • Tyler Lewandowski recorded two goals and an assist in this afternoon's contest, making it seven points on the season for him.
  • Graduate student Justin Arilotta's goal gives him a total of five goals in eight games on the season, making him Geneseo's top goal scorer.
