ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team swept Susquehanna on Friday, Sep. 15. Their 3-0 victory improved their record to 4-5 and marked their third straight win, with two more matches to follow on Saturday.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo claimed the first set 25-19. Geneseo went on a big scoring run early on, turning a 0-3 start into a 6-3 score. Geneseo held onto their lead, ultimately winning the set off of a big block by Sommer Madigan.
- The Knights won the second set by the smallest possible margin, 25-23. A few three-point runs allowed Geneseo to claim the set victory after a Susquehanna service error.
- The third set was another close one, but the Knights prevailed again, winning 25-22. An early five-point run followed quickly by four more gave Geneseo the momentum they needed. They claimed the match point off of an attack error from the River Hawks.
