Men's Soccer Comes Up Short At St. John Fisher

ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team played a strong game on Wednesday evening, but came away with a 1-0 defeat away against St. John Fisher University on Wednesday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Geneseo out shot St. John Fisher, 8-5, in the first half with forward Eren Aydin getting the Knights' first shot on goal in the 15th minute.
  • St. John Fisher scored the games only goal in the 23rd minute, sending the Knights into the locker room down 1-0.
  • Knights midfielder Stefen Nikolic lead the team with four total shots, including two chances in the 47th and 59th minute.  
  • Geneseo had 3 corner kicks in the last 10 minutes of the game but were unable to find a late equalizer.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Geneseo tailed a total of seventeen shots and six corner kicks in tonight's contest, while St. John Fisher totaled five total shots and one corner kick.  
  • Defenders Joe Vogt and Jake Depaoli have yet to come off the field for the Knights this season, playing 90 minutes in all 6 of Geneseo's opening contests.
