UTICA CNY FAST CHANCE MEET

Utica, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo track and field teams tuned up at the Utica Pioneer Fast Chance Meet on Sunday afternoon.

On the men's side, Bryan Jacobs, Jason Rappazzo, Lance Jensen, and Andrew Kent broke the facility record with their first place finish in the 4x100m with a time of 42.41. Jensen also claimed his own facility record in the 200m with a winning time of 21.59. 

John Goldzer captured a win in the 400mh, with a time of 54.98, which was a facility record as well. Nick Andrews placed 2nd in the 1500m with a time of 3:55.37.

On the women's side, Janelle Eckl won the 800m with a time of 2:17.17. Eckl's time was a new facility record, while Gwen Shepardson won the 200m with a time of 24.95.

Zoe Connor threw a 49.57m to miss out on first by only .2 meters and is best for third in program history. Ally Alvira and Lena Kiehl finished second and third in the Triple Jump, only behind Geneseo Alum Alexa Wandy. 

The Knights will be back in competition on Monday 5/15 in Chester, PA for one last chance to qualify for the Atlantic Regional Championship.

WIDENER LAST CHANCE MEET

Chester, P.A. - The SUNY Geneseo track and field team competed at Widener in the final meet before the Atlantic Regional Championship on Wednesday and Thursday at Susquehanna.

Joshua Goldberg placed sixth in the 800m for the men, crossing the finish in 1:50.71. In the women's 800m, Sierra Doody placed third at 2:12.09 and Raechel Zielinksi took sixth at 2:13.11.

One of the highlights for the meet for the Knights was the 1500m, where Erin Eivers took first at 4:28.31 and Marcie Hogan finished third with a time of 4:29.66. On the men's side, Ezra Ruggles finished fifth with a time of 3:47.50.

Kaitlyn Grossman had a standout performance in the 3000m steeplechase, earning the top spot with a time of 10:50.19. In the 5000m, Penelope Greene tacked on another top finish for Geneseo by winning with a time of 16:47.80.
