GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team began their outdoor competition season this Sunday and Monday, at the Geneseo Early Season Invite.
On Sunday, the Knights dominated the 10,000m, putting four runners in the top five.
William Hall took first at 32:23.58, while
Dillon McClary,
Jack Heraty, and
Justin Thang finished second, fourth, and fifth, respectively. In the 5,000m,
Nick Bauman was the top Geneseo athlete, taking second place at 14:56.12.
Matthew Sheehan continued the strong performances for Geneseo, earning a second place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:54.79.
On Monday, Geneseo started off by earning first and third in the 4x100 relay.
Eli Boothby,
Lance Jensen,
Jason Rappazzo, and
Bryan Jacobs were on the first-place team with a time of 42.18. The Knights went on to place second through fourth in the 400m hurdles, behind
John Goldszer,
Stephen Hoare, and
Brendan Style, respectively. Jensen then provided one of the best highlights of the day by setting a new school record in the 200m with a time of 21.35.
The Knights dominated the 4x400 relay, taking first place by 13 seconds. Hoare, Goldszer,
Marshall Testa, and
Aaron Langston took the top spot at 3:30.34. In the field events, Chris Davis took first place in the high jump in his first collegiate meet at 1.94 meters.
