Women's Lacrosse Falls at Cortland, 14-8

CORTLAND, N.Y. - A slow start hampered the SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Cortland, as they fell 14-8. The loss drops the Knights to 11-4 on the season and 7-1 in SUNYAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights struggled in the opening quarter, as they couldn't find the back of the net and allowed six goals to the Red Dragons. Megan Cook put the Knights on the board in the second quarter, but they faced an eight-goal deficit heading into the second half.
  • Alaina Reina and Emily Salanger scored unassisted goals in the third quarter, and then the Knights scored five in the final 15 minutes.
  • Goals from Reina, Molly Brown, Maira Brennan, and Cook got the momentum on Geneseo's side, but they ultimately fell 14-8.
QUICK FACTS
  • Reina led the offensive effort with three points on three goals, while Cook chipped in two goals.
  • Tricia Curran picked up a game-high seven draw controls, while Brown added six.
