GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo softball team was unable to pick up a win against Cortland, dropping both games of the doubleheader on Saturday, April 22. With the two losses, the Knight's season record sits at 15-12-1, and their SUNYAC record is at an even 6-6.

GAME 1: GENESEO 3, CORTLAND 4
- The game remained scoreless for both teams until the fifth inning with senior Elizabeth Eberhardt and the Knights defense holding the Red Dragons to just five hits during that time.
- Geneseo scored three runs in the fifth inning, and Junior Rebecca Schwartz recorded the first RBI, with a single to left field that scored Leah VanDerwarker. Geneseo was able to capitilize on a pair of Cortland errors to score their other two runs.
- Cortland was able to fight back, scoring 4 runs in the last two innings. Their go-ahead run in the top of the seventh proved to be too much for the Knights, losing 4-3 in Game 1.

GAME 2: GENESEO 0, CORTLAND 6
- Cortland scored quickly to set the tone for the game, scoring two runs in the first inning, while Geneseo was unable to get anything started with their turn at the plate.
- In the second inning, Geneseo recorded one of their two hits in the game, when junior Sydney Bolton punched the ball into left field. Their second and final hit would come in the fourth inning, as senior Samantha Martz also singled through the left side.
- Cortland would go on to score four runs in the sixth inning, pushing their lead to 6-0. Following some heavy rain, Geneseo was unable to begin a comeback, ending scoreless game against the Red Dragons.

- In Game 1, three Knights went 2 for 4. Junior Rebecca Schwartz, freshman Brooke Fraas, and senior Samantha Martz all batted .500.
- Geneseo has six more SUNYAC matchups this season, facing Brockport, Plattsburgh, and Potsdam. All three matchups will be at Vic Raschi Field.
