Women's Lacrosse Earns Key SUNYAC Victory over Golden Eagles, 10-4

GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team secured their seventh consecutive SUNYAC conference win at Brockport on Wednesday night with a 10-4 win. The victory improved Geneseo to 11-3 on the season and 7-0 in SUNYAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights started off hot with a goal from Molly Brown, assisted by Emily Salanger, just over a minute into play. Brown added in another goal a few minutes later.
  • Alaina Reina put up the next two goals for Geneseo, but Brockport was able to answer both times to keep the deficit at two goals heading into the second quarter
  • The Golden Eagles quickly made it a one-score game, but an unassisted goal from Reegan Vorgang gave the Knights momentum. Maira Brennan assisted Reina to close out the first half with a 6-3 score.
  • The Eagles scored early in the third quarter and then the Knights controlled the remaining second half with four unanswered goals, including two from Salanger.
QUICK FACTS
  • Maggie Rosaschi played all 60 minutes in goal and finished with 8 saves to surpass the 300 career saves milestone.
  • Molly Brown led the Geneseo offense with six points on three goals and three assists. Alaina Reina added three goals and one assist herself.
  • Tricia Curran captured a team high of six draw controls and Meg Seeley led the team with two caused turnovers.
WHAT'S NEXT
Geneseo will travel to Cortland on Saturday, April 22, for a matchup at 1 pm. Both teams are currently undefeated in SUNYAC play.
