ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Geneseo traveled to RIT and won both games of their doubleheader against the Tigers on Wednesday, Apr. 19. The Knights emerged victorious in game one with a score of 5-4 before dominating game two and taking an 11-3 victory. The team's record sits at 13-10-1 overall after the sweep.

GAME 1 - Geneseo 5, RIT 4
- Geneseo struggled early on, trailing 4-0 after the first three innings of play.
- The Knights turned it up in the 4th, scoring two runs. Senior infielder/outfielder Samantha Martz scored first on a wild pitch and then sophomore Tori Guary scored shortly after off of an RBI single by sophomore outfielder Hannah Recine.Â
- The 5th inning was full of Geneseo offense as senior Leah VanDerwarker crossed the plate first after Martz hit a single to center field. Junior infielder Rebecca Schwartz was the second run of the inning, hustling to home after a ground ball by senior infielder Audrey Minton. Freshman infielder Brooke Fraas was the third run of the inning, scoring on a wild pitch. RIT was unable to score, allowing Geneseo to take a 5-4 lead.
- The last two innings would prove scoreless for both teams, allowing the Knights to take game one with an exciting 5-4 victory with Sydney Bolton finishing off a complete game on the mound.

GAME 2 - Geneseo 11, RIT 3
- The second game started quickly for the Knights, scoring three runs in the first inning. Freshman infielder Gabriella Smith scored first, making it home from second on an RBI single by Fraas. Junior catcher Lauren Gulick scored the second run, getting home from second base on a hit to right field by senior infielder/outfielder Olivia Fazio. Fazio went on to steal second, allowing senior infielder Iris Kahris to steal home plate, giving the Knights a 3-0 lead.
- Neither team would score again until the fourth inning, where Geneseo would score three more runs. Sophomore infielder/outfielder Hannah Olejniczak scored on a bunt by freshman outfielder Alexis McGrory which was followed by an RIT throwing error. McGrory would come around to score after a groundout by Smith. The final run of the inning came via a homerun by DP Sydney Bolton.Â
- Geneseo would go on to add three more to their total in the fifth, two of which came around on a single by Smith. RIT would score two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but Geneseo would lead 9-2 heading into the final two innings.
- The sixth inning would remain scoreless, but the seventh saw two more Geneseo runs. RBIs were awarded to Gulick and Kahris, pushing the lead to 11-2. RIT would score just one, solidifying the Knight's 11-3 victory.
