ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team picked up another win on the road today against St. John Fisher, edging them out for the 9-8 victory. The win marked the Knights third in a row and improved their record to 7-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights came out firing as William McCumiskey and Christian Marcello, Jr. scored a combined three goals within the first two minutes of the game.Â
- After the Cardinals scored their first goal, both teams offenses' slowed down until the final minutes of the first. Geneseo continued to hold the upper hand, however, and headed into the second quarter up 5-2.
- The slow offense continued throughout the rest of the first half and the third quarter, as the Knights were only able to get two goals past the Cardinals, and the Cardinals only clipping one goal in each quarter.
- Things began to heat up for St. John Fisher, as they were dominant offensively in the fourth. Despite their last ditch offensive effort, the Knights quick goals in the beginning of the game became crucial to holding the Cardinals to a 9-8 defeat.
