BROCKPORT AND ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team competed at both the Golden Eagle Invitational and the Bomber Invitational over the weekend, and took first at the Brockport Multi.
The Knights were dominant in the 400 meter dash at Brockport, taking four of the top five spots as
Lance Jensen,
Jacob Miller, and
John Goldszer finisihing 1, 2, 3, respectively, and
Jason Rappazzo taking fifth. Jensen's time of 49.13 was good enough for ninth fastest in Division III so far this season. Geneseo continued to show their prowess in the 600 meter run, with
Kieran Sheridan taking first at 1:20.63, marking a new school record.
Stephen Hoare and
Joshua Goldberg were right behind him at second and third.
Brendan Style earned first place in the 60 meter hurdles, beating out the competition with a time of 8.49. Jensen, Rappazzo, Sheridan, and
Jacob Miller then teamed up in the 4x400 relay and took first at 3:18.61, out racing second place by 10 seconds. Geneseo went on to earn second and third place finishes in the heptathlon.
At Ithaca, the Knights took six of the top 10 spots in the 800 meter, with
Matthew Sheehan earning first at 1:56.21. In the mile run,
Ezra Ruggles nabbed the top spot at 4:12.07, while
Nicky Andrews finished second at 4:18.06.
Dillon McClary,
Anson Butler, and
Justin Thang took second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the 3000 meter.
Geneseo dominated the competition at the Bomber Invitational in the 5000 meter, taking all top five finishes in the race.
Ryan Mitchell took first at 15:17.30, while
Austin Schoen,
Alex Hillyard,
Micah McCulley, and
Jack Heraty finished second through fifth, respectively.
