Fensterstock's Goals Help Lead Men's Ice Hockey To 4-2 Win Over Cortland

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey team completed an impressive weekend of SUNYAC play by defeating Cortland, 4-2, on Saturday night at the Ira S. Wilson Arena. Geneseo improves to 15-5-2 overall and 9-3-1 in the conference after defeating Oswego on Friday night and the Red Dragons on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Cortland got off to a hot start, jumping ahead 2-0 after a pair of goals within two minutes of each other. Geneseo found themselves in a hole, but they were able to bounce back and score two quick goals of their own.
  • Cooper Fensterstock found the back of the net with seven minutes left in the period, and then Alex Dameski tied the game less than a minute later off assists from Greg Koutsomitis and Diarmad DiMurro.
  • Riding their momentum into the second period, Fensterstock scored his second goal of the game just three minutes into the action and made it a 3-2 advantage for the Knights.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Adam Harris and the Geneseo held strong for the remainder of the game, and held the Red Dragons off the scoreboard before Bryan Zurowski netted an empty net goal to seal the 4-2 victory.
