Men's Ice Hockey Cruises To 6-0 Victory Over Buffalo St.

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey team dominated visiting Buffalo St. on Friday evening at the Ira S. Wilson Arena, as they pulled out a 6-0 win. The victory moved the Knights to 16-5-2 on the season and 10-3-1 in SUNYAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Geneseo wasted no time taking a lead on the Bengals, as Jared Thomas scored unassisted five minutes into the action. Thomas picked up a failed clear attempt by Buffalo St. and rifled a shot past the goalkeeper to make it a quick 1-0 advantage.
  • Later in the period, Stefan Miklakos made Buffalo St. pay for a penalty as he scored a power play goal off assists from Justin Cmunt and Mitch Machlitt.
  • With three minutes left to play, Geneseo added two more goals to make it a four-goal lead after one period. Dakota Zarudny made it 3-0, and then Cmunt scored with 15 seconds left to play for the fourth goal.
  • Cmunt netted his second goal of the game and third point early in the third period off a power play, and Corey Cunningham scored his first goal as a Knight for the sixth and final goal of the game.
