GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team defeated Fredonia on Friday, Feb. 17. Geneseo's overall record improves to 11-13, with a 8-9 SUNYAC record. The Knights claimed victory with a score of 80-64 and have clinched a playoff berth after losses by both Potsdam and Plattsburgh.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights and the Blue Devils went back and forth throughout the first half. Both teams hit 13 shots from the field, but Fredonia sank 50% of their attempts compared to Geneseo's 39%. In the closing minutes, Geneseo fought back and were only down one point, 35-36.Â
- Cole Kattan sank a jumper in the last minute of the first half, giving him 10 points in the first 20 minutes. Ethan St. Lucia scored 5 points and accumulated 4 rebounds in the first half, just shy of Sebastian Pacheco's 5 boards.
- The Knights came out of the locker room ready to win. Quickly, they turned the one point deficit into an eight-point lead. They never looked back and completed the comeback in dominant fashion, winning 80-64.

- Ethan St. Lucia ended the game with a double-double, tallying 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Ranaghan, Cole Kattan, and Sebastian Pacheco also recorded double-digit points.
- With the Geneseo win and losses by Plattsburgh and Potsdam, the Knights will return to the playoffs as the #6 seed, after missing the mark last season.
