CANTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't close out the first semester on a high note Saturday afternoon, as they traveled to St. Lawrence and fell by a score of 79-58. The Knights record dips to 4-5 overall on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• With the offense struggling to score early in the first half, Cole Kattan came up with a big three-point shot just over six minutes into the action and then Michael Gentile followed it up a couple minutes later with a three of his own.
• The Knights eventually cut the Saints lead down to five halfway through the first half, but St. Lawrence continued to put the pressure on and ended up with a 13-point advantage going to halftime.
• Geneseo wasn't able to put together the run they needed to mount a second-half comeback, and ultimately fell 79-58.

QUICK FACTS:

• Robert Pericolosi led the Knights offense with 17 points, while Josh Garelle tallied 13.
• Garelle also led the team in rebounds with seven, while Pericolosi and Justin Yearwood each chipped in five.

The Knights will return to the court on Jan. 5 for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at Cortland.
