GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team took down the visiting Oneonta Red Dragons, 63-50, for their first SUNYAC victory of the season on Saturday afternoon. The Knights' now sit at 4-2 overall and 1-1 in SUNYAC play this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights' offense got off to a huge start against Oneonta as three pointers from graduate guard Hannah Stockman and senior guard Kiley Snow, along with a layup from freshman forward Audrey Hintz put the team up 8-0 less than four minutes into the game. The squad's defense held up as well, as they took an 11-4 lead into the second frame.
- Two more successful three-pointers each by Stockman and Snow as well as free throws from Hintz and junior guard Mackenzie Reigle worked to cushion the Knight's lead as the first half came to a close.
- Geneseo had their most successful quarter of offense in the third as they put up 20 points to send the game into the final frame with a 13-point lead.
- The fourth quarter was back-and-forth with both teams scoring often, but a late layup from Reigle paired with successful free throws by Snow sealed Geneseo's 63-50 SUNYAC victory.
