Ice Knights Fall on Military Appreciation Night

Geneseo, N.Y.- The Geneseo men's hockey team lost at home 6-2 to Elmira College Tuesday night in the Military Appreciation night. The Ice Knights fall to an overall record of 7-2-0 on the season and remain 4-1-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED-
  • The Elmira Soaring Eagles gained a 3-0 lead before the Ice Knights found their first goal of the game.
  • Geneseo forward Alex Dameski converted on the power-play 10:07 into the second period on a whistling wrist shot. Alex Wilkins passed the puck from their defensive zone to Stefan Miklakos, who sent the puck across the net to the wide-open Dameski.
  • The Ice Knights would get on the board again 9:30 into the third period. Freshman standout Luke Panchisin took advantage of another Ice Knights power-play and put his shot past the Elmira goaltender. Jared Thomas picked up the assist on the play.
  • The game ended with a final score of Elmira 6, Geneseo 2.
QUICK FACTS-
  • Tonight's out of conference match-up was a special night at Ira S. Wilson Arena. Military Appreciation Night meant that attendance was free for all fans, the Ice Knights wore special camouflage jerseys, and veterans and current military members were honored before and during the game.
  • Forwards Alex Dameski and Luke Panchisin are now tied with Mitch Machlitt for most goals (5) on the season for Geneseo.
