Plattsburgh, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team suffered their first loss of the season against SUNY Plattsburgh on Friday night. The Ice Knights move to 4-1-0 on the season and 1-1-0 in State University of New York (SUNYAC) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Plattsburgh Cardinals started the game hot, scoring three goals in the first period and shutting out the Ice Knights through 20 minutes.
- The Ice Knights went down 4-0 before scoring their first goal with five minutes left in the second period. Jared Thomas passed the puck up to Zach Rehbaum who laid the puck back for Mitch Machlitt, who slotted the puck into the net.
- Not even a minute later, Ice Knights' forward Teddy Purcell scored again for Geneseo. Alex Wilkins and Carter Diceman picked up assists on the goal.
- The game ended with a score of Plattsburgh 6, Geneseo 2.

- Senior forward Mitch Machlitt recorded his second goal of the season and his fifth career goal for the Ice Knights.
